Selective Insurance Group, Inc. NASDAQ: SIGI, is a regional company based in Branchville, New Jersey, and provides property and casualty insurance products and insurance services to customers in the United States through its subsidiaries. Selective classifies its business into three segments: Insurance Operations, Investments and Diversified Insurance Services. The Insurance Operations segment writes commercial lines and personal lines property and casualty insurance through independent insurance agents, mainly in 20 states in the Eastern and Midwestern regions of the United States.

Selective competes with Cincinnati Financial, Ohio Casualty, Harleysville, St. Paul Travelers, The Hartford, Zurich Financial Services, GEICO and Progressive.
