In early 1957 the school was moved to Ipoh, Perak. Some of the students (40 people) from the first group of students were re-enrolled to study. Another 40 students were only called back to study on May the same year.
In May 1957, the school was once again moved to Tanjung Malim, Perak and was located in Maktab Perguruan Sultan Idris (MPSI). Here, the number of students increased to 119 pupils. MPSI Principal, Mr. R.A. Goodchild, was also a temporary principal for this school. Two months later, Mr R. A. Goodchild was replaced by Mr. C.F. Daniels. There were 9 teachers and 2 part-time teachers teaching in the school during that time.
On 5 January 1958, the new buildings for the school were officially opened for usage. These buildings were situated next to MPSI. Ariffin Mohd. Nam was appointed as the first official principal with the help of 11 teachers.
