Seixal (also in São Vicente, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: Sexal), is a village located in the central part of the island of Sao Vicente, Cape Verde, it is located east of the island capital of Mindelo. The location is in the heart of the island. Seixal contains around 500 to 600 people and is slowly growing. The village is linked with the major road linking with a road linking Madeiral and Salamansa and also another linking with Mindelo as well as a few remote roads. It is one of the cities that has no information online at Mindelo Infos (see http://www.mindelo.info).

The area around Seixal is very arid and rocky as the area is a desert. The hills and mountains surround the area while Monte Verde covers the eastern portion. Its farmlands are around the village and sporadically in the countryside and around the village. Forests are trace and it includes palm and several other types of trees. The farm size is very small and they are the size of the farm is only the equivalent to almost the basketball or a volleyball field.

A part of the houses were built in the late-20th century, most of the older homes are builded with mud and brick as well as stone. The living standards are in the middle range as well as its income, one time, there were no money until the mid-20th century. The village is near the island's middle class. A part of the population are farmers and are based in agriculture where banana plantations, pineapple, livestock and other crops including fruits and vegetables are common, the rest works in shops, ports and other businesses. Electricity as well as communications, other necessities and phone lines arrived between the mid to late 20th century but not all homes receive especially in the countryside and is the last on the island.

Seixal offers panoramic views of its nearby hills and the mountains including Monte Verde to the east, mountains to the north, and a small fraction of Monte Cara, the mountains within Madeiral and the island of Santo Antão can be seen.

Seixal has no school, its nearest school is in east Mindelo or Madeiral, Seixal also features churches and a square (praça or prasa). Its nearest middle and secondary schools is in Mindelo.
