Talk:Segger Microcontroller Systems

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hello,

Thank you for helping me create a more appropriate entry. I agree that my first attempt was too much like an advertisement. I like the Wikipedia site very much and I want to use it correctly. I added the Segger Microcontroller Systems page because I noticed that a number of companies very similar to Segger are listed on this site (Green Hills Software, LynuxWorks, Wind River Systems, ...). I also thought that a breif history would help people looking for information about Segger. There are a number of places where our product line can help individuals looking for embedded software and development tools. Rather than poluting pages with product information and its inner workings, I thought it would be best to put together a simple history page.

If more needs to be added to this page to explain the notablility of Segger, I can add information about our unique technology which permits multiple breakpoints in Flash on an ARM core. ARM cores typically only permit the use of 2 hardware breakpoints, but we have devised a way (unique in the industry) to permit multiple hardware and software breakpoints in Flash. I could also add information about our embedded operating system that is small enough to fit in 3KB of ROM, and features zero interrupt latency.

I have not done this because I didn't want the page to appear to be an advertisement. If you think this would help, I would be happy to add this information.

Thank you, Shane
