See My Baby Jive
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
See My Baby Jive was a popular single by Wizzard
Written and produced by Roy Wood, See My Baby Jive was the second single by Wood's band and their first to reach number one in the UK, spending four weeks at the top of the chart in May 1973. The record is deeply indebted to Phil Spector's Wall of Sound.
The work is a solid piece, granite-like in its superb bass line - passacagliaic in structure with the sonorities of baritone saxophones. Key work amd modulation is tight, and musicianship precise and excellent. It should be part of the library of any serious musician.
