Sedriss was an Imperial character in the Star Wars Expanded Universe. He eventually rose to be a Dark Side Adept and Military Executor to the reborn Galactic Emperor Palpatine.

[edit] Biography

Sedriss was originally a mercenary hired by Imperial Intelligence. Intelligence, among many other Imperial organizations, had tried to enroll him into their ranks, but his insubordination, wanton violence, and killing of a few agents led Intelligence to slate him for execution. The Inquisitorius discovered that he was Force-sensitive, and halted the order. Sedriss was brought before Emperor Palpatine. By simply asking him "Would you like to kill me?", made him a deal—if Sedriss could kill him, he was free to go, but if Sedriss admitted defeat, he would have to serve the Emperor for the rest of his life. Sedriss eagerly agreed—and then immediately collapsed to the floor. Palpatine had used the Force to crush his ribs. Sedriss yielded, but Palpatine continued. Sedriss swore that he would serve Palpatine; the Sith Lord ignored this statement as well. Only when his heart was about to stop, and Sedriss begged to serve the Emperor did he let go, certain that since Sedriss had now met his match, he would serve Palpatine loyally. When Sedriss could stand up, he bowed before Palpatine. The Emperor sent him to Byss, where he was extensively trained in the Dark side as well as advancing in the military proper, overseeing the defenses of Byss. He never did know what Palpatine wanted to use him for. Eventually he helped Palpatine recuperate after his rebirth subsequent to the Battle of Endor.

After the Battle of Pinnacle Base, having been rewarded for his faithful service by a promotion to Military Executor (Darth Vader's former rank- it denotes the supreme overseer of all the branches of the Imperial military) Sedriss took charge of Operation Shadow Hand, and protection of the clone vats. The Emperor perished again thanks to Luke Skywalker, aboard his Eclipse-class Star Destroyer, the Eclipse. While awaiting the Emperor's rebirth, Sedriss led an assault on Balmorra, but was defeated by the new war-droids Balmorra had developed, and had to agree to a truce. This angered two of the Emperor's high ranking officials, Nefta and Saadi, who then called for his execution. Sedriss later found them destroying the remaining clones of the Emperor, and cut both down with his lightsaber. At that moment, Palpatine entered the room in another young clone body (one of the batch that had been contamimated by the Emperor's personal physician at Carnor Jax and Sarcev Quest's behest), and Sedriss bowed and repledged his commitment to him.

Later, Sedriss sent a Hunter-Killer droid after Luke Skywalker and Kam Solusar, when they landed on the planet Ossus, but was warned by the Emperor to capture them himself. He and fellow Dark Jedi Goir attempted to defeat the Ysanna natives, but their armies were defeated. Goir was almost instantly killed by Kam, and Sedriss was hurled backwards by a Force push from Luke.

He grabbed a Ysanna native named Jem, and held her hostage against a tree. However, this "tree" was actually a stationary Jedi Master, named Ood Bnar. Bnar stopped Sedriss by using the Force to gather strength from Ossus' core, while Sedriss called out power from electricity in the atmosphere. The two combatants annihilated each other.

He was replaced as Military Executor by Xecr Nist in 11 ABY.
