In Mexico the Secretary of Economy (Secretario de Economía) is the head of the Department of Economy (Secretaría de Economía or SE). The Secretary of Economy is a member of the federal executive cabinet appointed by the President of the United Mexican States.

Until 2000 the name of the Department of Economy was Secretaría de Comercio y Fomento Industrial (SECOFI) but that name was changed when President Vicente Fox took over the presidency of the republic.

The current Secretary of Economy is Eduardo Sojo Garza-Aldape.
