A secret admirer is a person who loves someone else from afar. The admirer may send gifts or anonymous love letters to their crush. In comparison with stalking, a secret admirer is usually benign, although stalkers may consider themselves to be secret admirers. Mostly, the goal of a secret admirer is to woo the object of their affections, and then to reveal their identity, paving the way for a real relationship.
