Secret Boyfriend (Malcolm in the Middle episode)

Secret Boyfriend is an episode of the 7th season of Malcolm in the Middle

In school, Malcolm gets stuck with popular girl Vicky Jaret for a lab partner in a science experiment. He is surprised to learn that she is as smart as he is and is covering it up with a different personality. Malcolm also learns that she requested him to be her lab partner because she is attracted to him. The two start dating in secret, and staying apart in public, even to the point where Malcolm gets hurt by her other "friends". Jessica tries to tell Malcolm that this secret relationship is a bad idea and that he deserves better, but he goes into denial about it. She then tells him that she was always attracted to him as well and would be proud to be seen with him in public.

Malcolm then realizes that she is right, and breaks up with her at a school dance. Malcolm returns to Jessica only to find out that she never felt that way and lied to help him.

Meanwhile, the simultaneous subplot, commonly known as the "B" story, begins with Lois finding a note for a Career Day meeting for Reese that happened days earlier. Lois becomes determined to find him a job. She even takes drastic measures, such as locking up the food, stealing his bedsheets, and even confiscating the toilet paper!

Speaking of determination, Dewey scores a hole-in-one at a Mini-Golf park. Normally, this earns Dewey a free game, but he was denied it because "it didn't count". Outraged, Hal decides to take action and teaches Dewey to stand up to figures of authority and take what's rightfully his.
