[edit] Career
In a period of a little over two years, they posted five releases in the UK Singles Chart, and released three albums. The debut single "Time For Action" reached number 13 in the UK chart, putting them at the forefront of the mod revival movement. More chart success followed with "Let Your Heart Dance", "My World" and "Sound Of Confusion", after which Shelton left the band (eventually joining Dexys Midnight Runners). He was replaced by Paul Bultitude.
After the band split up in 1982, after the two single releases from their final album Business As Usual failed to chart, Cairns went on to form a band called Flag, with Archie Brown from The Bureau.
Secret Affair had a dedicated group of followers called the Glory Boys, who travelled around England to watch the band perform.
