The District Municipality of Sechelt is centrally located in the Sunshine Coast Regional District of British Columbia. Sechelt is one of the service centres for the Sunshine Coast. Sechelt covers 39.71 kmĀ² (15.33 sq mi) of land, extending from, but not including the communities of Halfmoon Bay and Roberts Creek. As of the 2001 Canadian census its population was 7,775.
It is known for its view of the Strait of Georgia and its large rock quarries on native lands.
