The Sims 2: Seasons is the fifth expansion pack in The Sims 2 series of games. It's expected to be released on 23 February 2007 in Europe, followed by the North American release on 27 February. [1] The announcement for the expansion pack came in the form of a flyer which shipped with The Sims 2: Pets and reads:
Give your Sims a break and get them out of the house! This upcoming expansion pack for the Sims 2 lets you take your Sims outside where they can engage in fun seasonal activities including snowball fights, playing pool games like Marco Polo, and more. They can frolic in Spring showers, fish in their own ponds, and grow seasonal fruits with unexpected consequences. Whether you build them a small Winter chalet or a Summer cabin, your Sims will enjoy every season - but watch out for unpredictable weather! Available Early 2007. |
[edit] New features
The Sims 2: Seasons expansion pack will introduce weather into the game as well as seasons. The Sims 2 was originally intended to contain weather but was excluded after a bug was found where rain would fall into enclosed housed areas. Weather will affect each Sims' mood, wants, and fears: Sims will easily fall in love in spring, bond with family members at winter, befriend their acquaintances at summer and will quickly gain new skills in autumn. The players will also get to choose the seasons for each neighborhood.
The climates for each neighborhood shall be random or permanently one season all-times, according to the settings the players choose.
Also included in that game will be six new career paths which Sims may choose from - Adventure, Gamer, Law, Music, Journalism, and Education. Sims will be able to grow their own vegetables as well as fish which they can either consume or sell.[2] Those who overuse their pesticides, however, may find themselves turned into plant people.[3]
As with the other The Sims 2 expansion packs there will be additional items including a pool slide, skating rink, and wishing well.
