Talk:Sea Lion
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The photo shows some true Earless seals (family Phocidae), not sea lions! - MPF 16:26, 23 Feb 2004 (UTC)
- I haven't gone back to check when, however this has been corrected as of 2006. --TeaDrinker 22:03, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Land speed
I removed the following sentence from the article:
- Many are suprised by the fact that they can travel on land at up to 16 mph.
which was added by 207.200.116.137 (talk • contribs). It seems quite fast to me, although I can't recall ever having seen a record of the speed, I have a hard time beliving this. Anyone have a source? --TeaDrinker 07:06, 14 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Capitalization
Why is this at Sea Lion and not sea lion (small 'l'). Is "Sea Lion" a proper noun?--ZayZayEM 01:55, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
- Eccentricities of Wikipedia naming. See Wikipedia:Naming conventions (fauna), and then read the talk page. It was a big deal about a year ago; I don't know if anyone has really wanted to bring it up again recently. Some people feel strongly that all names should be caps. --TeaDrinker 02:49, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
