Sean Martin

Sean Martin is an Anglo-Irish writer and film director. Born in Weston-super-Mare, England in 1966, Martin studied film and history in Plymouth, and later lived in London. He currently lives in Somerset. His books on the Knights Templar, The Cathars and Andrei Tarkvosky have been widely praised, as has his feature film The Notebooks of Cornelius Crow. His latest book is The Gnostics: The First Christian Heretics, and he is currently editing his third feature film, Folie à Deux. He is also a poet, and has had a number of poems published in various magazines in the UK and Ireland.

  • Mystery Play (2001), a comic drama about the occult history of London, inspired by the work of Philip K. Dick, and also the Dekalog of Kryzstof Kieslowski. The film features an original score by key P.J.Harvey collaborator John Parish.
  • The Notebooks of Cornelius Crow (2005), a psychological thriller about the occult history of London. Although given limited exposure when it was first released, the film has built up a cult following and a DVD release is expected in 2007.
