James "Scooter" McKnight is distinguished member of the United States Coast Guard Reserve.

Born August 3, 1969 in Fort Knox, KY, Scooter is the son of retired US Army Major, James Pruitt McKnight Jr. and Bonnie Rebecca McKnight (Miller). He has one sister , DeBekka, and is married to April Suzanne McKnight (Cobb). He has three wonderful daughters, Jillian Emily Suzanne, born Christmas Day 1999, Jenna April Rebekah, born March 27, 2001, and Laura Joelle Olivia, born January 27, 2005.

He has established himself as a "go to guy" in both his civilian job at Bender Shipbuilding and Repair Co., Inc. as well as in his military duty to the Coast Guard.

During the War in Iraq, Scooter was deployed to serve in Kuwait. He performed force protection duties, as well as, protection of all Coalition Forces shipping. He is currently a member of Port Security Unit 308, in Gulfport, MS.
