Styles', a straight pornographic actor in the United States, was born on June 19, 1961 in Rockford, Illinois. He grew up in Illinois, Michigan and Texas, an average middle-class kid, playing sports, and doing well at academics. Always athletic and active, he keeps his body in excellent shape, while his education and intelligence earned him a bachelor's and master's degree in physics. This earned him a job as a space shuttle engineer working in Mission Operations at NASA, Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. After three years, he took his hobby of fitness to professional status by becoming a personal fitness trainer, writer, and instructor, running his new business, and quitting his "day job" when it became lucrative enough at the 6 month mark.

Then, after 3 years of his fitness career, in a dramatic career change, he moved from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles, California, and entered the porn business. Scott has appeared on the cover of Advocate Men's Magazine, was Advocate Men's Man of the Year in 1997, was in Playgirl magazine, amongst many others. He has done work for the Playboy Channel, Spice TV, Playgirl TV, and has been in numerous mainstream "B" movies, as well as various TV shows to talk about his porn career, the adult industry, and relationships in the industry.
