Scott Gordon Patterson (born September 11, 1958) is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Luke Danes on the CW show Gilmore Girls.

Patterson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of Jewish heritage. He was raised in the town of Haddonfield, New Jersey and was a minor league pitcher in the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and Texas Rangers organizations before becoming an actor.

Besides Gilmore Girls, Patterson has guest-starred in shows such as Will & Grace and Seinfeld (where he was deemed "sponge worthy").
