Scott Kelby

Scott Kelby (born 1960 in Lakeland, Florida) is an American author and publisher of periodicals dealing in Macintosh and Personal Computer software, specifically for design professionals, photographers, and artists.

Scott Kelby is the President of KW Medial Group, Inc. – a Florida-based software education and publishing firm – as well as the Editor-in-Chief and co-founder of Photoshop User magazine, Editor-in-Chief of Nikon’s Capture User magazine and Editor-in-Chief of Layers magazine.

Kelby is also the President of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP), the 40,000+ member trade association for Adobe Photoshop® users.

Kelby has authored over 45 books, including the popular Down & Dirty Tricks series for Photoshop users and is the creator and series Editor for the Killer Tips series of books from New Riders Publishing.

In 2002, Kelby released Mac OS X Jaguar Killer Tips and the award-winning Macintosh: The Naked Truth.

In 2003, Kelby introduced his first software title called “Kelby’s Notes for Adobe Photoshop”, a plugin that provides enhanced help for users directly from Photoshop.

In May of 2005, Kelby released a book that would be a departure from the creative design realm, titled “The Book For Guys Who Don’t Want Kids”. In it, Kelby applies his own brand of wit and humor in lending advice to expectant fathers who find child-rearing an uncomfortable proposition.

Kelby also serves as Training Director for the Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour, Conference Technical Chair for the Photoshop World Conference & Expo and has been continually featured in a series of Adobe Photoshop training videos and DVDs since the 1990s.
