[edit] Wrestling career

Garland wrestled for New England Wrestling Association winning tag team and singles titles, before joining the WWF in 1993. Garland began his WWF career under the name of Scott Taylor. He saw little success as a solo wrestler, usually acting as a jobber.

In 1998, he teamed up with "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher to form the tag team of Too Much. Originally unnamed and wrestling as heels, the duo teamed regularly on the promotion's syndicated Saturday wrestling shows with Taylor playing the straight man to Christopher's over-the-top, egotistical antics. Soon Garland adopted Christopher's flamboyant actions and in-ring mannerisms and became known as Scott "Too Hot" Taylor. The team found little success as Too Much, but gained some measure of attention for their ambiguously homosexual gimmick. The two were originally booked to have a live, on-screen gay wedding at the 1999 St. Valentine's Day Massacre pay-per-view, but Christopher's real life father Jerry Lawler objected (as did Christopher) and the proposed storyline never went ahead.

In late-1999, they were renamed as Scotty 2 Hotty and Grand Master Sexay. They called themselves Too Cool and made their official debut by interfering in a match during an edition of Sunday Night Heat. The team's gimmick was originally that of heel wiggers, but gained in popularity after they were joined by Rikishi. As a three-man stable, the group feuded with the newly-arrived Radicalz. Garland went on to have a series of matches for the WWF Light Heavyweight Championship with Dean Malenko and Too Cool won their first WWF World Tag Team Championship.

The group split after Rikishi turned heel, Garland was sidelined with a broken ankle and Christopher was released for conveying drugs across the Canadian border.

Garland returned in 2001 to form an oddball tag team with Albert, though he was eventually doublecrossed by his partner. In May 2002, he suffered a serious neck injury and had to undergo surgery. It was 17 months before Garland made his full return, teaming back up with Rikishi. The team won the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown! After Rikishi was released, Garland saw little success as a singles wrestler, and was primary used to put over other wrestlers such as Mordecai, MNM and The Mexicools.

Garland's next push came when he began a feud with William Regal. This feud began when Regal left Garland (and turned heel) during a tag match against The Mexicools, but the feud ignited when Scotty attacked Regal during a promo on WWE Velocity. On the next episode of Velocity, which aired August 27, 2005, a match between William Regal and Garland was cut short when Paul Burchill interrupted to aid Regal in beating down Garland. Garland continued to feud with the pair for short while before the storyline faded out and Garland returned to action on Velocity, often teaming with Funaki.

Garland continued to be a mainstay in the SmackDown! cruiserweight division through out the rest of the year and into 2006. Garland competed mainly on Velocity, but during the February 17, 2006 edition of SmackDown!, he was brought up to the main show to substitute for Kid Kash (due to a family emergency) in a title match for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. Though Garland was unsuccessful in his attempt to defeat the champion Gregory Helms, he (along with SmackDown!s other cruiserweights) entered into a short-lived feud with the champion. After the feud faded out Garland returned to teaming with Funaki, to mainly job to other tag teams, as well as put over debuting wrestlers.
