IMDb profile

Scorched was an independent film with "cult-success" and enjoyed several airtimes on Comedy Central thanks to its original sense of humor.

[edit] Plot

Three mischievous employees (Paulo Costanzo, Woody Harrelson, Alicia Silverstone) of a bank in a small deserted town all make plans to rob it at the same time; however, none of them knows about the others. Meanwhile, a clothing store employee (Rachael Leigh Cook) has plans for revenge against a local millionaire (John Cleese). While all of this is going on, Doleman, a jobless loser, is applying for jobs and has very little hope. The film begins with the end of the plot, with Doleman showing up for his first day of work at a local bank that has just been robbed and getting fired instantly for no reason. After that, the film returns to one week earlier, showing the development (and results) of the robbery.

[edit] Notable Things

  • The film frequently uses split screen to show mutliple scenarios playing out at once.
  • The director, Gavin Grazer, has very little film experience. This is remarkable because the film flows quite smoothly, considering the director hadn't really directed a film of this magnitude in the past, and hasn't since then.
