Sports and Games Portal

It seems to me that this more properly describes an organization more like USA Hockey... responsible for organizing the national team, and serving as the national governing body of the sport? This would make it NOT like the National Hockey League, which is, come to think of it, an international (Canada and the USA), professional hockey league. Can someone confirm or deny this?
