Schumacher College

Schumacher College was founded in 1991 in Dartington, Totnes, Devon, UK by Satish Kumar. It was named after E.F. Schumacher. It is an international centre for ecological studies, and runs holistic education courses.

Several important people in the area have taught short courses there, such as David Abram, Patch Adams, Fritjof Capra, Deepak Chopra, Christian de Quincey, Stanislav Grof, Hazel Henderson, James Lovelock, Lynn Margulies, Humberto Maturana, Wolfgang Sachs, Arne Naess, Rupert Sheldrake, Vandana Shiva and many others.

Apart from a yearly programme of one, two or three-week short courses, they also offer an MSc in Holistic Science, in partnership with the University of Plymouth.
