Schmallenberg is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is located in the middle of the Sauerland (Rothaargebirge). Population: 26,516 (2005). Area: 302 km². It belongs to the district Hochsauerland. It is situated approximately 25 kilometres south of Meschede.
