[edit] Scene points
10 scene points to whoever adds a paragraph explaining scene points.

- Yep. Keep saving up the scene points and you can cash them in for a fab prize. How does a year's supply of black hair dye grab you? Or maybe a shiney new studded belt?
- I can't beleive that this article exists. With an entire section on "scene points?" I really hate this kind of bull crap that boils down to "adults" acting like children. I sincerely hope that this and the "indie kids" articles are deleted by wikipedia.

- I agree. I think we should get rid of the entire section on "scene points". – Mipadi 21:32, 7 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Keep it civil, folks.
I removed the last two comments because they were offensive and contributed absolutely nothing to the discussion of this article. I would like to remind users of Wikipedia's civility policy. Imaginaryoctopus 22:11, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Cleanup
What are some ideas we have for cleaning up this page? – Mipadi 03:42, 11 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, the main problem right now seems to be the fact that the article is just one big blob. Some section headings would be nice (suggestions: types of scene kid, fashion, elitism - although the last might not be NPOV.) Another thing is the "External links" section; most of the links are unnecessary or belong somewhere else. Finally, some of the information seems irrelevant - the part about scene kid/sXe rivalry comes to mind.
- I am not the most knowledgeable person on the subject, but it seems like this article could be merged with the scenester article. I am in the middle of finals week at school, so I can't work extensively on this for a while. I'm curious to see what anyone else thinks should be done with this article. - I'm going to propose a merge; until we merge, I'm going to clean the cruft/crap/unverifiable information from the article. – Mipadi 03:07, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

- Okay, I cleaned it up as best I could. I'm still going to leave the {{cleanup}} notice, because I feel some work could be done. I got rid of a lot of unverified information, the "Characteristics" section (which was biased and not encyclopedic), and other unencyclopedic information. I also proposed a merge with scenester. – Mipadi 03:35, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] HUGE lack of nuetrality
I decided to delete a lot of the "scene personality" section in the 'characteristics' because a lot of it seemed to either be criticizing "scene kids" or at the very least attempting to mock "scene kids." Some of the things were REALLY unnecesary like "has to have a myspace with a lot of freinds and comments" or says "hella ALOT" and then there was something about saying "&&" instead of "and" (could somebody please tell me how to pronounce "&"). Any how I just tried too weed out that kind of stuff and left the things that I saw as true, concidering myself a "scene kid."
[edit] Cleanup
I've started to clean up the article, hopefully creating a more NPOV version of it...although it's not really sourced yet (I'm working on it!) I hope it presents a light that is more objective and less opinionated than previous versions. In the mean time, I'd like to ask that if anyone who may be watching this page has any information to contribute (sources, also, would be fantastic), please let me know so I can use it (or, of course, edit it in yourself, but I imagine I will be copy-editing it mercilessly to fit style). Either way, please let me know if I've made any mistakes....I've been weeding information out of Urban Dictionary and the like, so it's not always accurate/NPOV —Keakealani 06:40, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, the whole point of rewriting the article is to remove the POV bias that was present in the original versions. PLEASE don't edit in POV statements - I will remove or rewrite them as I see it. Also, I would appreciate it if my texts aren't removed - or at least explain WHY. Edit summaries, please! —Keakealani 22:16, 30 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm gonna fix the page up a bit. Someone should take off the "merge suggestion" part, seeing as that artictle dosen't exist. I don't see a nuetrality problem, but I don't know any scene kids myself who smoke marijuana. Almost all use nicotine (that I know). The coffee part shop may need to be taken off, seeing as I've never seen a Scene Kid in a coffee shop in my life, and it kind of looks like a joke. It may need to be in the Emo article, because like it says, scene is like emo but not depressive and etc. — User:Czar Bishop
