[edit] Theme
The song's lyrics draw allegorical references to infidelity using a variety of terms originating from the field of the criminal justice system. The song offers a release and a sense of empowerment for someone dealing with the effects of infidelity. It is noted for relating to "real-life" issues confronted everyday. Though an almost universal theme, many lyricist prior to Ratt crafted songs that were light in nature so as to not upset the audience whom was judged by music industry insiders of the day as "overly sensitive."
