Branch of the Gens Aemilia,notable in the late Republican and early Imperial Rome. The most notable was the censor and princeps senatus ( leader of the house ) Marcus Aemilius Scaurus, leader of the boni and obdurate foe of Gaius Marius. Also of note was his son, Marcus Aemilius Scaurus, and his daughter, Aemilia Scaura, wife of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus.
