Scaryduck
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Scaryduck is the pseudonym of writer and journalist Alistair Coleman (born Parsons Green, 1966), an English blogger. He has won awards for his irreverent and scatological writings. He is an Arsenal fan, and lives in Weymouth on the south coast of England. He has two children, referred to as Scaryduckling and Scaryduck Junior, and a wife referred to as Mrs. Duck. He works as a journalist for the BBC World Service.
His blog posts are typically childhood reminiscences, often involving swearing and serious injury to himself or other parties, or observations on everyday life, and are frequently scatological in nature. He has written about such topics as accidentally meeting Kate Winslet while buying pornography in Reading, working in a dole office, and his experiences in the Air Training Corps. His blog came to public note after winning The Guardian newspaper Best British Weblog award in 2002. He has also been a judge on subsequent national blogging awards, but complains that none of the people he votes for ever wins.
His book, Tales of Mirth and Woe, based on his website output, was published in August 2006.
