[edit] Plot summary
The sequel to Scary Movie begins with a parody of The Exorcist, in which Megan Voorhees (Natasha Lyonne), is possessed and two priests, Father McFeely (James Woods) and Father Harris (Andy Richter), must drive the demon out. The exorcism doesn't go as planned, Father Harris found his mother in Megan's bed (who then claimed "he was no fun) and a chain of The Exorcist-like vomiting occurs . In the end, Mcfeely pulls out a gun and shoots Megan in the head after Megan insulted his mother. One year later, Cindy Campbell (Anna Faris), Brenda Meeks (Regina Hall), Ray Wilkins (Shawn Wayans) and Shorty Meeks (Marlon Wayans)(even though most of them died in Scary Movie) are at college, trying to live new lives, after the incident in the last movie. Cindy and Brenda get tagged by a dorky girl, Alex Monday (Tori Spelling), Ray, who is still confused by his sexuality, has two new friends, Tommy (James DeBello) and Buddy (Christopher Masterson), while Shorty is still the same stoner he was in the last movie.
The story begins when a college professor, Professor Oldman (Tim Curry) and his wheel-chaired assistant Dwight (David Cross) plan to study ghosts from a haunted mansion, with the clueless teens as bait. As Cindy drives to the mansion she is singing along with a song (Graduation Song by Vitamin C) when the radio stops and says, "Shut the fuck up and let me sing". When Cindy arrives at the mansion, she meets a talking Amazon parrot who is vulgar and slanderous and the caretaker, Hanson (Chris Elliot), who has a gross disfigured hand. After some weird incidents on that night (Cindy being beaten up by a cat, Ray raping a toy, Shorty getting attacked and smoked by a weed-monster, etc.), the teens finally learn about the professor's plan and try to escape the mansion, but the professor gets killed by a beautiful ghost. (This part of the movie is very similar to the 2000 Nickelodeon TV movie starring Kenan and Kel, Two Heads are Better than None.) The gang would like to kill the ghost of the mansion's former owner to escape, but they can't really be bothered to. Hanson gets possessed, and Cindy, Brenda and Theo (Kathleen Robertson) parody Charlie's Angels to get him, but end up beaten up.
In the end, they use Cindy as bait to kill the ghost. Two months later, Cindy encounters Hanson again when she and Buddy are taking a walk. After Buddy disappears without notice, she looks up to see Hanson serving at the hot dog stand (The Alternative ending reveals that he killed Hue Kane and his mistress, and also he loved Caroline, but she rejected him, possibly his swelling left hand) She screams "No!" while Hanson screams "Yes!" Straight after this, Hanson gets hit by a car. The car is being driven by Shorty, who is getting fellatio from the beautiful ghost, now with a bag over her head, in reference to the first movie.

[edit] Trivia
- Marlon Brando was originally cast as the priest in the opening Exorcist parody. It was to be his first film role in three years. But shortly before filming was to begin, Brando became sick with pneumonia and was unable to continue. He had been paid $1,000,000. He was replaced with James Woods who claims that he was paid the same amount.
- While the "Basketball scene" was a parody of a Nike commercial played during the game, most people do not realize that a character's wheelchair is actually 'playing' a song from the cult film Manos: The Hands of Fate. The squeaks of the wheelchair mimic the melody played whenever the character Torgo walks.
- Keenan Ivory Wayans said this was the last Scary Movie film until David Zucker took over to create sequels that would be rated PG-13.
- Megan Voorhees' last name is a reference to last names of Mrs. Voorhees and her son Jason in the Friday the 13th films.
- It is rumored that the reason behind this film's profits was a result of fans of Kevin Smith's films buying tickets just to see the trailer for Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (released later on in 2001).
- The only Scary Movie to be filmed in the USA. Scary Movie 1, 3 and 4 were filmed in British Columbia, Canada.
- The scene where Cindy is running from the skeleton is shown in Herbie: Fully Loaded.
- Tori Spelling's character, Alex Monday, is a parody of Alex Munday, the name of Lucy Liu's character in the Charlie's Angels movies.
- The movie was originally NC-17, but ended up being a R after removing a couple of scenes that were in Deleted Scenes of the DVD Version.
