[edit] Game Plot
The focus of the game was that the players were attending Camp Lindenwood, a "haunted" summer camp. According to game legend, a camper named Dennis Williams disappeared there. By Piecing together these clues, players slowly realized that Dennis was in fact alive, and his twin brother, who was a poor swimmer, drowned while trying to save Dennis's pet frog. This is reminiscent of the book How to Disappear Completely and Never Be Found, in which the main characters father died in a similar way.
In the second season, at another camp, the teams investigate the disappearance of a councilor named Sally. By piecing clues together, they discover she was engaged to another councilor and she lost one of her hands. They are able to put the spirits of Sally and her fiancee to rest.
[edit] Competition
During the day, cabins had to compete in challenges during the day for the right to compete in a clue challenge. Day challenges were usually physical, such as a trapeze challenge, or a race. The cabin who won was awarded the right to compete for a clue later that night. Clue challenges were simple enough, but were designed to frighten the player. For example, in one challenge players had to dive for keys in the camp's pool, while the crew simulated the effect that they were not alone in the pool, using bubble jets. One of the final challenges involved entering a haunted cabin, which was essentally a walk through haunted house, filled with puzzles. completing a night time challenge resulted in winning a clue, which was usually one of Dennis's personal items, such as a book on Frog care, or a photo of him and his twin brother.
