I have removed almost all of the text (which I previously posted) because it quoted extensively from an on-line source of the 1911 Encyclopedia Britannica, and the on-line entity claims copyright on the material. I am completely rewriting the article based on new research. I hope to have the replacement text up in a day or two. - Dalbury 18:51, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
