Sawtooth eels are a family, Serrivomeridae, of eels. They get their name from the saw-like arrangement of their vomerine teeth (inward-slanting teeth attached to the vomer bone in the roof of the mouth).

There are eleven species in two genera:

  • Genus Serrivomer
    • Bean's sawtooth eel, Serrivomer beanii Gill & Ryder, 1883.

    • Black sawtooth eel, Serrivomer brevidentatus (Roule & Bertin, 1929).
