Saw Delight is the ninth Can album, and features two new band members who were ex-members of the band Traffic, with Can's bassist Holger Czukay giving up the bass in favour of experimental effects.
The music itself works as an attempt at world music with the extra percussion adding to this vibe, and precedes the mid-1980s craze for world music set by artists such as Paul Simon and Peter Gabriel.
