Savory

The word savoury or savory has a number of meanings:
- Savory for the herb of the genus Satureja, commonly used to flavor beans and turkey stuffing
- Savory for the taste sensation produced by the free glutamates commonly found in fermented and aged foods. It is considered the fifth primary taste sensibility in Japan.
- The British and Commonwealth countries use the term as an adjective to refer to courses in a meal that are not sweet.
