[edit] Trivia
- This episode's title is a play on words to the film Saving Private Ryan.
- Actor Costas Mandylor previously worked with Holly Marie Combs as the main stars in the series Picket Fences.
- In this episode, actors Costas Mandylor and Louis Mandylor play brothers, but they are in fact brothers in real life.
- The To Vanquish a Spirit spell was first used in the episode The Power of Two.
- Cole interviews for a new demonic secretary in this episode, and hires Julie.
- According to the plaque under Leo's army photo (and conversations in many episodes like Exit Strategy in season 3) he was born in May 1924 and died in the third quarter of 1941, making him 18 years old before he died in the Battle of Guadalcanal.
- Usually when Piper freezes a projectile it continues along it's path when unfrozen, unless it has been touched. In this episode she unfreezes it and it drops.
- After Leo is dying and goes to the Halliwell house to find help for his charge in the episode Love Hurts, he tells Piper that he grew up in San Francisco, California and joined the army there. This is later supported when Piper, in the episode Ex Libris, visits Leo's widow in San Francisco. However, in this episode it shows that Leo joined the military with two friends in Biloxi, Mississippi.
- Piper dies for the fifth time
