Sautscheck
The surname "Sautscheck" with various first names (such as Joachim Peter, Johann Joachim, Konradin Aemilius, et al.) is one of several allonyms of an American (born in Ukraine) lutenist-composer Roman Turovsky-Savchuk (also active as an artist-painter). The use of these allonyms by Turovsky (who claimed to have simply transliterated a part of his surname in German) was seen as a malicious hoax by some musicologists, and led to a coinage of a new German word, "sautscheckerei", which denotes a musical or literary hoax.
This allonym is not to be confused with Nicolas von Sautscheck, a German lutenist-composer, active in the Limburg area of the Southern Netherlands in the last decade of the 18th century.
