Sausage and gravy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sausage and gravy is a traditional southern breakfast dish. After loose pork sausage is cooked in a pan and removed, flour is browned in the residual fat and slightly darkened. Milk is added to create a moderately thick gravy, to which the cooked sausage is added.

Sausage gravy is traditionally served over buttermilk biscuits, and can also be served over eggs, grits, or fried potatoes.
