Sauro class submarine

The Nazario Sauro Class are submarines operated by the Italian Navy. All boats were built by Fincantieri in Monfalcone There are three sub groups
- Nazario Sauro Class
- S518 Nazario Sauro - completed 1980 - decommissioned (named after Nazario Sauro)
- S519 Carlo Fecia di Cossato - completed 1980 - decommissioned - named after Italian World War II submarine commander Carlo Fecia di Cossato, Reference
- S520 Leonardo Da Vinci - completed 1982 - in service (named after Leonardo Da Vinci)
- S521 Guglielmo Marconi - completed 1982 - decommissioned ? (named after Guglielmo Marconi)
- Salvatore Pelosi Class
- S522 Salvatore Pelosi - completed 1988 - in service - named after Italian World War II submarine commander and war hero Salvatore Pelosi
- 523 Giuliano Prini - completed 1989 - in service - named after Italian World War II submarine commander and war hero Giuliano Prini
- Primo Longobardo Class
- S524 Primo Longobardo - completed 1993 - in service - named after Italian World War II submarine commander and war hero Primo Longobardo
- S525 Gianfranco Gazzana Priagozzia- completed 1993 in service - named after Italian World War II submarine commander and war hero Gianfranco Gazzana Priaroggia
