The issue is not where it comes from (the source); the issue is what license the image is licensed under. Images licensed under a "non-commercial use only" cannot be used on Wikipedia. If you could clear that up, I'd be very much obliged. theProject 21:19, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

You have to give every image you upload a proper licence (see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for a list of them). The licence you give depends on from where the image has been taken. You should cite the source of the image on the image description page. Now, the text at the foot of Image:Assyrian dna.gif simply tells us that it comes from a book by Cavelli-Sforza et al. It doesn't tell us the intrmediate step, or evn give bibliographic details of the book. If it's from a book, it's highly likely to be under copyright, and, therefore, inappropriate for inclusion in Wikipedia. I also notice that you uploaded Image:Assyrian dna.jpg, which is the same image with the text removed. I hope this isn't a cynical move to bypass licensing issues. theProject is right that the images need appropriate licensing and source information.
