Sarteano is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Siena in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 100 km southeast of Florence and about 60 km southeast of Siena. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,679 and an area of 85.2 km2.[1]
The municipality of Sarteano contains the frazione (subdivision) Castiglioncello del Trinoro.
Sarteano borders the following municipalities: Cetona, Chianciano Terme, Chiusi, Pienza, Radicofani, San Casciano dei Bagni.
