Sargeist

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sargeist is a black metal band from Finland. The band was formed in 1999 as Shatraug's (from the Finnish black metal band Horna, among other projects) solo project. The translation of this band's name into English is "coffin spirit." On the demos and the split EP with Merrimack, Sargeist was comprised of Shatraug and two other members which were later kicked from the band. After recording the demos and the EP, Shatraug was joined by Hoath and Torog, both from the Finnish black metal band Behexen. This line-up has remained stable to this day.
