[edit] Facilities

The institute has lots of facilities for the benefit of students and staff. There is a branch of the State Bank of India which is housed along with the post office in one complex. The campus also has a gym (with an A.C. gym under construction at the time of writing this article, i.e. September,2006), an indoor badminton court and table tennis tables - all in the Students Activity Center (S.A.C.). It also has a well equipped library and a Central Computer Centre with the latest desktops and high speed internet connectivity. There is an integrated playground which has a 400 metre athletic track, a cricket ground and two basketball courts. Construction of a swimming pool is expected to commence shortly. The canteen offers a wide variety of mainly vegetarian delicacies and is a hub for student interaction and activity. It has a stage at its rear where performances are held at the time of cultural or other events. The other place where a lot of student activity occurs is, ironically, in the Staff Club. Here, indoor functions (like quizzes, meetings, auditions for cultural events etc.) of a smaller scale are held. There is a music room inside which contains a wide variety of musical instruments which students can practise playing. The Staff Club also houses the Estate Offices. It is an ideal place for marriage ceremonies and birthday celebrations of staff or their family members. The Seminar Hall is also used for small functions like seminars, quizzes or other events.
