Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation

Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation (SESCO) now Syarikat SESCO Berhad is a State Statutory Body incorporated under the Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation Ordinance, 1962. It is responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity for Sarawak state in Malaysia.
It is owned 51.6 per cent by the Sarawak State Government and 45 per cent by the Sarawak Enterprise Corporation Berhad (SECB). The Corporation's total asset currently stands at around RM4.0 billion. Thirty-six power stations with a total installed capacity of 553MW, comprising 64 per cent gas turbines, 18 per cent thermal generators and 18 per cent hydro turbines, are strategically established throughout the State. The major towns are connected to via a 275/132kV State Transmission Grid.
It's sophisticated installations enable the SESCo to provide electrical to about 382 000 customers. Over the last four years, sales of electrical grew at an average of 8 per cent per annum.
