Sara Groves is an American singer/songwriter from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Sara received her "Bachelors of Science" in History and English in 1994 from Evangel University, a private Christian university in Springfield, Missouri. Sara spent four years teaching high school in Rosemont, MN before recording her first album, Past the Wishing, in 1998. Since then, she has released five more albums and appeared on several others (see below). Sara has been nominated for 3 Dove Awards including "New Artist of the Year" in 2002 and "Special Event Album of the Year 2003" by the Gospel Music Association. She was named one of the best Christian music artists of 2005 and the album, Add to the Beauty, was named "Album of the Year" for 2005 by CCM Magazine.

In 2001, she appeared on World Entertainment's What a Mom album with the song "Generations," and also on World Entertainment's New Music From Our Heart To Yours album.

In 2002, she appeared on Randy Stonehill's Edge of the World album on the song "Take Me Back." Also in 2002, she appeared on the album Traveling Light: Songs From the 23rd Psalm and the album City on a Hill: It's Christmas Time with the song "Child of Love."

In 2003, she appeared on the City on a Hill: The Gathering album with the song "Come Be Who You Are".

In 2004, Sara was recognised by the Alumni Board from Evangel University for her significant achievements in the few years since her graduation. The "Outstanding Young Alumnus Award" is presented to alumni who have made contributions with their lives within a short period after their graduation. In 2004, she also appeared on the City on a Hill: The Collection album, on the song Jesus Went to the Garden.

In September 2005, Sara, her husband Troy, her father-in-law, a neighbour, and a Minneapolis ER doctor delivered a tour bus and trailer load of baby supplies to Gulf Coast victims of Hurricane Katrina in Slidell, a suburb of New Orleans, LA.

As of 2006, Groves continues to record and tour with her husband, Troy, and their two sons, Kirby and Toby.
