Sara Edwards (born 1962), is a co-presenter of BBC Wales' early-evening news programme, BBC Wales Today.

Sara was born in Wales and brought up and educated in London, where she studied medieval and modern history.

She started her career with Capital Radio, contributed regular items to BBC Radio Four, and presented for HTV West before joining BBC Wales News.

Sara has regularly presented from the Royal Welsh Show and the National Eisteddfod, and has made several series for BBC 2.

Her main hobbies are theatre, music, cookery, painting and the countryside - her family has a farm in West Wales. She is also a keen sports fan, enjoying golf, tennis, horse racing and riding.

Edwards is engaged to senior British Army officer, Major General Jonathon Riley. The couple first child Hannah Elenor Alice was born on 19 March 2006.

Edwards hobbies are theatre, music, concerts, cookery, volleyball – she has a professional cooking diploma from La Petite Cuisine culinary school in London – painting and the countryside, as her family have a farm in West Wales. She also enjoys golf, tennis, horseracing and riding.

Sara is a strong supporter of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme in Wales and has presented Gold Awards on behalf of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh at St James' Palace. She is also involved with Cancer Research Wales [2], the British Heart Foundation, is on the council of the University of Wales, Lampeter [3], a serving Sister of St. John Ambulance [4], and was on the board of the Wales Youth Agency.
