[edit] Featured Article: 1755 Lisbon earthquake
[edit] fr:Tremblement de terre de Lisbonne de 1755
You're quite welcome ! ;=)
I've already translated several other featured articles, including George Fox or Jonathan Wild, but yours was by far the most interesting I've ever worked on. Please keep up the great work !
Take care,
- Hello again from France,
- I'm pleased to inform you that the translation of your article has been elected as an "article de qualité" itself ! (i.e a French featured article) The vote was almost unanimous, and so the article now belongs to this highly selective category (210 articles out of about 110,000).
- The new status of the article is visible thanks to a special banner at the bottom of the page.
- Congratulations again !

[edit] Welcome back
I hope you've been well. There's still space for another great article like those you've worked on in the past. Cheers, -Will Beback 08:24, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
What a kind message, and what a pleasant surprise that you noticed! Many thanks Sandover 21:13, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit Summary Request
I have noted that you edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky or even vandalizing. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! -- Kukini 17:08, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- I can be lazy about this, I know. Good recommendations. Thanks. Sandover 17:35, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. Just thought I might FYI you as one of the RC patrollers. The lack of edit summaries always stands out to us. Kukini 01:47, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of POV paragraph
Please re-read WP:NPOV, WP:NOR, and WP:BLP. Have Reliable Sources commented on this particular vote of theirs? Jayjg (talk) 16:07, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, have you read the citations? The copy is referenced. Sandover 16:08, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
Please do not refer to the removal of policy-violating material as "censorship" and "vandalism", which itself is a violation of WP:CIVIL. Please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User:Sandover, Senate vote, and habeas corpus Jayjg (talk) 16:22, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
- Sandover - the problem with your well-sourced section is that it refers to one vote. A Congressperson typically votes on hundreds of bills each year. Can you imagine what an article on a Senator or Representative would look like if each vote had a full section? ("Long" comes to mind. "Tedious" is another possibility.) If/when a Congressperson authored a bill or played a significant role in a bill (as cited by news articles), a paragraph (but maybe not even a section) is certainly appropriate. But simply voting for a bill is NOT newsworthy enough to justify a section. John Broughton | Talk 18:25, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
