Santosh Thundiyil is one of the highly appreciated contemporary Indian cinematographers. His first film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was one of the biggest box office hit in the Indian Cinema.

Santosh grew up in the city of Kottayam in Kerala, Southern India, and was a student of St. Berchman's College, Changanacherry.

Santosh graduated from the Film and Television Institute of Pune, India in 1994. He is trained under Oscar winning Billy Williams (Gandhi) and Dean Cundey (Jurassic Park).
