Santa Ana Star Center

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Santa Ana Star Center is an 8,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, a suburb of Albuquerque.

The arena opened in October of 2006. The home teams are the New Mexico Scorpions of the Central Hockey League and an announced expansion team in af2, a division of the Arena Football League. The af2 franchise will be owned, in part, by Chicago Bears superstar linebacker Brian Urlacher.

The location is on Unser Boulevard, just north of Northern Boulevard. The arena project is part of a larger "City Centre" project, including a new City Hall. In July of 2006, the naming rights were sold to Santa Ana Star Casino.
