The Sankara Stones are fictional rocks invented by George Lucas for a legend in his 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Long ago, the rocks were given to Shankara by the Hindu god Shiva, an almighty power, with the message that he should go forth and battle evil with them. Indiana Jones learns of the rocks from a village elder whom he meets when he arrives in a small village on the outskirts of India, though he knows of their existence already. The elder tells him that their particular rock has been stolen by an thuggee cult from an ancient palace. Jones travels to the palace and discovers the village rock (and two more) in the possession of the evil cult. The cult are digging for the remaining rocks within the mines of the palace, in the hope that with all of them they can rule the world. Jones foils their plan and escapes the palace with the rocks, only to lose two of the three in the process. He does however return the remaining rock to the village, and in doing so, restores peace and life to it.

The Sankara Stones glow when they come into contact with each other, due to magical diamonds inside them. They have three lines across their surface, each one representing a different level of the universe.

Locations of the stones at the end of the film:

- Mayapore Village, upon the altar (1 rock)

- In a river outside Pankot Palace (2 rocks)

- Buried within the catacombs of Pankot Palace (2 rocks)
