Sanford, Manitoba lies approximately 12 kms south-west of the provincial capitol, Winnipeg. Generally considered a "bedroom" community with many resisdents commuting to Winnipeg for work, Sanford is also home to many farming families and small businesses. Business include: grocery, restaurants, liquor, insurance, accounting, travel, and construction for example.

Sanford Collegiate educates almost 400 students, ranging from 9th to 12th grade. Many students are bused in from surrounding communities.
