Sane build environment
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Many GNU Autoconf configure scripts output the message "checking whether build environment is sane..." early on in the configuration phase. This message is a result of the tests done by GNU Automake's macro AM_SANITY_CHECK. This checks to make sure that a file created in the build directory is newer than a file in the source directory. This can fail on systems where the clock is set incorrectly. This macro is automatically run from AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE.
